I want to add deadlifts into my routine. However, I don't want to put the emphasis on my quads (outer sweep) since they grow easily - I would like the benefits to hit mainly my upper body. Would stiff legged deadlifts - or any variation thereof - be a good alternative (my hams don't grow any faster than any other part of my body - just my outer sweep).
I've tried rack deadlifts but they strained my lower back so much that they were basically ineffective. However, stiff legged deadlifts lessen the strain and feel pretty good. |

Stiff leg deads are going to put much of the focus on your hammies.
Try regular deads.... You are not going to get a heck of a lot of quad growth from deads like you would from squats and leg press.
