First of all I am not a DR but I do know that pregnancy tests detect pregnancy by detecting higher levels of HCG in a woman urine or blood. You didnt mention what she was taking but I would dount she was taking HCG which is the only hormone that would make a pregnancy test positive. However, steroids do affect a womans levels of pregesterone and estrogen and early in pregnancy there is an increase in progesterone which in the absence of that increase would result in what is known as a chemical pregnancy. Most people never even realize they are pregnant when they have a chemical pregnancy. Once again, Im not an MD but I would stop the cycle just in case it is a viable pregnancy and go to an OB and have an ultrasound done to see if there is any sign of implantation. Chelsea

This is her third cycle. she has took Var @ 15mgs, D-bol 15mgs a day test 50mgs e/w and now EQ @ 100mg a week..... Her last couple of periods where just a little here and a little there for a couple of days!!! She's 5'10 150lbs and bf is very low.. (and thirdy something) and we have been working out for many moons (*grin*) BUT here in the last few months she has been going for more mass so a lot more heavy lifting... Freaks for life.

Really she should go to an OB and have herself checked just to make sure. The AAS can account for the missed period but I wouldnt think any of those would account for an increase in HCG that would cause a positive pregnancy test. If by chance she is taking HGH also.....I have heard of HGH sometimes being counterfeit and being HCG instead which would cause a positive test. Let us know what happens after she is able to have a DR check out the situation. Chelsea

Ok now what's up today we did another test and it tested not pregnant so is it her hormones going nuts!!!

I had that happen to me which is why I replied to the post in the first place. In my situation, it turned out to be a chemical pregnancy which I refered to in my first post. What happened to me was that the first couple pregnancy tests I took were positive ( I took a few because I couldnt believe it). Then a couple days later before I went to the DR I took a few more and they were testing negative. I went to the DR and the ultrasound showed an implanted embryo in my uterus so the DR told me I was pregnant and did a blood pregnancy test which was positive but my hormone level was low. It was the most stressful time but what eventually happened was it turned out that an egg was released and fertilized but since my hormone levels were low or as the DR put it... could have been a genetic problem with the embryo.. the embryo never developed past 8 weeks as best he could tell. He then sent me home and told me I would miscarry naturally and to expect what would seem like a heavy period. He told me that it happens more than people realize because often women can be irregular and not ever now the difference. This is just my experience and what happened to me so there is no way to know if the AAS somehow effected the test or if you have a situation similiar to mine but I did have the exact same weird results with the at home tests.
