What's a good Training Split for...

What's a good Training Split for...

What would be a good training split for a girl who's never lifted weights before, and she doesn't really wanna get too muscular, like even in her abs she said she just wants them flat, not much muslce showing. She's 5'3 and weighs 120lbs and wants to lose about 10 pounds and just have a nice shaped body (she already does, but it would look really good if she lost about 10 pounds, kind of tighten everything up really). She basically has a lot of free time but she likes jumping on a trampoline (plays with little cousins a lot on there), likes walks, hikes and swimming. Should i just get her to do light weights? and what kinds of exercises should i recommend? I'm just used to trying to help others gain size so this is new to me and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
BigBuffStaples.

Well, how nice of you to help her out, Buff! You must be trying to get laid? JK
Anyway, try just a basic 4-day split, see if she likes it:
Mon - chest/tris - hit basic movements
Tues - 30mins cardio/abs
Wed - Back/bis - same, keep it basic
Thur - 30mins cardio/abs
Fri - Shoulders & 30min cardio
Sat - Legs/abs
Keep her weight light and reps high. She should push just enough weight to keep her heart rate up, and to keep moving during the weight set, not take long breaks during each set. This will maximize her cardio during the weights. She can do the same basic movements you would do, just make sure she is using correct form.
Get her to give that a try, see if she feels that. Make sure she adjusts the workout on how her body feels. If it's too much, back off. If it's not enough, increase her weight.

Hope this helps! Good Luck!

hahaha, nah i'm already gettin laid, she's my girlfriend. That sounds like it'd be a pretty decent workout though. Only problem right now is she doesn't have a gym membership, although i think she's trying to get one. The only real part of her body where she wants more muscle showing is her legs, she said she doesn't really care about everything else, just have it slightly toned (or tightened up), and have a flat stomach, nice shaped ass and really nice legs, she just wants really nice legs. But i'm pretty sure that will come with everything else am i right?

So basically she'll do cardio and abs 3 times a week, and every other body part once? I'll try her out with this and see how it goes for a few weeks, anymore tips are welcome, i appreciate this one Madine21, hopefully it will work, i'll let you know how it goes. Thanks again

Exactly what I have my lady doing!

But, Really make sure she is "using" the muscle, not just moving the weight. That is the hardest concept for most of my clients to grip, but once they do they start seeing amazing results. She has to learn how to squeeze her muscle and get a full contraction, even with the lightest weight. Shes going to need help so dont give her the routine and send her off...make sure you are there to watch her!

Oh definatly, i'd never just give someone a routine without at least explaining it a few times in the gym with them, Thanks for the advice!!
