  Ladies...do you specifically train your traps!!

 Ladies...do you specifically train your traps!!


One of my weekly ponders during my training is "Should I, or should I not train my traps seperately"...more specifically should I incorportate shrugs into my program?

When I first started to train, I had no clue about developmenting my traps, and they to me seemed almost non-existent! However, 2 years later, I feel like I woke up and my traps appeared out of no where...obviously they get worked with other back/shoulder exercises and have become quite developed through that as is...I'm happy with them now, just curious if it's really something I should start doing....

So Ladies, do you train your traps, if so, what do you do to work them? If not, why don't you do them?

I train traps at the end of my shoulder day - Keep in mind I am in BB not figure though.

But I generally just do 3 sets of shrugs and some pullups on the smith machine.

I do shrugs at the end of my shoulder day as well. Three to four sets for me.

The girl that Im seeing right now doesnt train traps at all. She says that she used to and that they grew out of proportion (grew very big) and she didnt like the look.

I think I will give them a go for 6 weeks to see what I think. I see people doing them with dumbbells and on with the smith machine...would free weights benefit me more than the sm?? Help is much appreciated!!

I do them at the beginning of my shoulder workout. I'd do them at the end but my traps are VERY tight and doing them first helps me warm them up. I do 4 sets of shrugs on the smith machine and upright rows.
