 K, ladies. Need some help.

Wasn't sure which forum to put this in 'cept I'm certainly not posting it in convo.

Wrenched my ankle yesterday. It was a "bulldog sleeping under the recliner, don't wanna mush his head, try to tippy toe around him and catch your ankle on the metal thingy under the recliner incident.

So I've had my ankle on ice most of the night and now wrapped up in ace bandage. I don't think it's serious enough to see the doctor. Just gave it a good wrench.

My question is.... how to best speed healing because not that I'm a wuss or anything, this really freaking HURTS! I got up this morning and can barely put pressure on it.

Suggestions?

I'm no expert, but I would keep icing it. 20 mins on/20 mins off for ice as much as you can. That and rest it, but keep it moving (doesn't need to be walking on it. Perhaps just drawing circles with you foot.).

Pack it in ice and keep your foot elevated.....higher than your chest..preferably laying down

Well, if you can't move it, then you can't move it. Ice it for a while and see how if feels in a couple days.

Once it starts healing be sure to do ankle exercises (without weight). Rotate your ankle, stretch gently in all directions, draw the alphabet, etc. These help ensure the ligaments are flexible while it's healing.
