Girlfriend needs advice on weight loss

My girlfriend is wanting some serious advise on what the best program as well as products to use. She is wanting to lose some serious weight. I was telling her about t3 and Clen but I really don't know that much about them. You see we are very different. I strive to gain weight as desparately as she is to lose weight. Here is her situation:

height: 5'5"
weight: 190 lbs.
have been diagnosed with hypothyroidism
eats clean
works out - cardio every other day - other days is weights

She was doing well and about 2 yrs ago went through about 1 yr of lots of stressful situations in her life and gained from 150 to 190 within 1 yr time and can't seem to lose it. She has expressed interest in finding a product that can help her to burn fat and increase her metabolism.

Any recommendations will be greatly appreciated in what she can safely use as well as the recommended cycles and dosages.

Thanks in advance everyone!!!
Rooster

Wow. Poor girl.

What medication is she taking for her hypothyroidism?

She is currently taking Synthroid .112 mg

I would think the t3 would be a very unsafe decision since she has hypothyroidism. I don't know much about it besides that it does something to your thyroid gland. Clen is okay for most people. Do some research online to see if she thinks it could be for her. I have liked it in the past, try Oxyflux, it's pretty reliable. Good luck!

Hey Rooster...
She was given a typical brand of Levothyroxine which is T4... Doctors always seem to just give this out without extensive testing on the thyroid... I hate generic responses; meaning that every person's thyroid reacts and performs at different levels.. The T4 synthetic provides steady hormone levels which is why it is so often prescribed, but what doctors overlook is that most people can not convert the T4 to t3. t3 is the active form of thyroid. t3 is what keeps the metabolism high etc...

How long has she been on synthroid? Her body may not able to convert the t4 to t3. . The best solution for hypo is a combination of T4 and t3 for balance and metabolism/thyroid stimulation.

Before she self medicates and starts popping pills etc... i would strongly suggest she go back to the doctor or find a better one that is willing to test her bodies response levels to t3 production and measure the free hormone levels.

There is an OTC pill called Armour thyroid. It is desiccated thyroid and has both t3 and T4. That may work for her and be a substitution for the synthroid all together.. it may start her losing weight too...

OR if the doctor wants her to remain on the T4, she can stack t3 (cytomel) to also achieve a balance and a boost in her metabolism... If she can do this, she needs to take between 5-10 mcg of cytomel after breakfast and after dinner ED.

BUT i really suggest she see her prescribing doctor and she if they can work out a better treatment for her... esp if she is having trouble losing weight and if she is moody (a commom side of low t3 and high T4). That imo is the first and safest step for her to take right now!!!

Hope that helps!!! I feel her pain!! Good luck and keep us posted

luv super
