Hi Hamlet,
You don't mention if your dancer friend is a specific type of dancer. Normally, they have to weigh in/make weight. If she is deficient on this basis, then she she should look at using a simple, high protein supplement (eg pure ion-exchanged whey or whey concentrate) at bedtime on the days in which she either practices or performs. This will have the gradual effect of adding valuable muscle, mainly in the areas that are exercised.
The basics to weight-gain is simply to add calorific content to the diet. To have the "desired" gain, however, needs a small adjustment to habits/lifestyle. That means - the right, high protein foods, either immediately after exertion has taken place, or at retiring.
If you have specifics to add or wish to contact me off-list: I'm at mhugo@sunint.co.za
Good luck,
Marc
