I have heard different opinions on which of the above to take as a good fat supplement. The only difference I have seen in the two is that Fish Oil makes my skin oilier. Is there a substantial difference in the two? |

Is there a substantial difference in the two? | it is my understanding that we should take both because fish oil gives you EPA and DHA and flax gives you ala. Now our bodies have the ability to convert the EPA and/or DHA into ala but it does not do it at a very efficient rate, especially as we get older. So I take both fish oil and Flax. as far as the skin oil, i haven't noticed that too much personally. i have noticed however, that fish oil gives me an improved sense of well being. Makes me better adjusted and less stressed for some reason.

How much of these do you take?? I know for sure that I'm not getting enough fat in my diet...but it seems like just taking the rec. dosage isn't enough from what I've read...

When I'm dieting down, I will increase it to 2-3000mg. I try to accommodate any drop in my calories with the added fat.
