Building a home gym, what should I add to it

Building a home gym, what should I add to it

I have decided that I prefer training at home, and so I am ugrading from my old bench to a pretty heavy power rack. What do you see as being essential for the home gym and what should I look at adding further down the track?

This is what its going to consist of so far
heavy duty rack with lat pull down/low row + dip bars
2 x benches (incline/decline and flat) + preacher bench
a variety of bars(ezy curl, flat, ropes, double D, tricep barsetc ) and 3 pairs of spinlock dumbells
400+kgs of weight

I am thinking of getting some rubber matting for the floor ( maybe some old conveyor belts) and maybe some more dumbells and a dumbell rack. Further down the track I might look at getting a smith as well.

any other suggestions or anything I am missing

power rack, a good selection of db's and a good bench (flat and incline in one). Obviously bars and weights. That's all you really need!

check out new york barbells. THen find out about their disributer in long island. hes willing to go much cheaper.

also i have the new york barbells angles dip station that was only like 140$ and i do weighted dips on it and its better than any fancy tricep machine or chest machine in the gym.

power rack. Good bench, something for calves, angled dip station. Enough dumbelss for arms and shoulders at least. check out nybarbells. i dont remeber the web adress but defianlty the site to go to. i would stay away from leg presses and anything that isnt free weight, its very hard to find things that feel good in compaison to the gym, and they are a lot of money.

trust me ive made a home gym and dont buy a legpress or lat machine inless ur gonna buy used gym quality stuff. Just go with stricktly free weights.
