The intestines are not affected negativly in any way during a crunch, unless you have a problem. Women have irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) problems more than men. IBS symptons are recurrent abdominal pain, bloating, constipation diarrhea ... and big meals, medicines certain foods stress caffeine can make it worse----
so if you're havin any of those problems, then get it checked out.
In general exercise stimulates intestinal muscles, which makes them push more food through the system... that's a good thing.
