I've decided to try somthing different to make me a more well rounded athlete. I'm going to do a sprint triathalon. My goal is to finish. I don't plan on buying a road bike, but I have a serviceable mountain bike. I may go for an event that is off road (such as xterra). There is one at Lake Tahoe in September but the bike sounds very hard for a first timer since it is long for a sprint and involves a lot of climbing.
I picked up a simple book that is motivational. I've been running for a few months more steadily and I can do 6-6.5 miles in an hour. I've also swam maybe 8-10 sessions now and I'm good for 1000 meters in 30 minutes (20 minutes the time I borrowed a wetsuit). I bought some padded bike pants today and I'll start riding outside when weather allows, indoors on lifecycles when it doesn't.
I plan to stay above 200 lbs. so I'll be a Clydesdale.
I do stay on AS year round and currently am supplementing my test with some dbol. That might have caused a calf strain last time I ran - my right calf is still sore 9 days later.
Anyway, that's my plan. Now that I've announced it I have to follow through. |

Good luck. I told my wife I would do a triathlon with her but my training is lacking. I can run 2 miles in 20 minutes, but 6-6.5 in an hour? Hell no. I'm having a hard time with the running...lots of pain, too.
Sucks.
Anyway, I respect you for doing this. Definitely good to be a well rounded athlete.
