OK. Maybe there are a few other OTC supplements that have some benefit, but as far as plant sterols are concerned, they are ineffective in the human body. Sterols were promoted heavily in the 80s' but quickly fell by the wayside simply because they didn't work. They didn't work then and putting them in a bottle with a new label isn't going to make them work now. Tribulus is a sterol that has hormonal effect in insects.

"Plant sterols are natural evolutionary substances manufactured within plants that provide nutrients primarily to insects and some small animals.

To date there is no valid research indicating that tribulus terrestrius provides any legitimate anabolic (muscle building) effect in humans. Absolutely no published research. What little research there is on this compound is devoted to insects and rats. That's right - insects."

i don't think so.
With ANY HERBAL one must first be sure to get a standardizeds, assayed % active ingredients product.
Many tribulus around are NOT even standardized for saponins ( not to mention protodioscin )= you're buying hay, hence that product isn't a fair representation of the herb chemicals.
Just think ginseng, st.john's worth, ephedra & many others before saying herbals are bogus.
Of course if your herb is poorly grown/harvested etc & contains no active chemicals...

I honestly believe that Tribulus works. I'm not by any means saying it's anywhere close to true ancillaries or AAS. However, I've taken it by itself and I've definitely felt more aggressive on it. I don't care what some ppl say. It works.

I have found trib has worked well for me. I don't know if its psychosomatic but I really don't care. I am aware that there are limited studies that are valid, however, I figure its not hurting me and that's fine. On a side note I've used it as a PCT for andro after a long sitnt, and I had no side effects. Its ok in my book.
