yes, dextrose is corn sugar. you need a high glycemic carb post workout to spike your insulin to shuttle nutrients into the muscles for a quicker recovery. along with the dextrose, add in your whey protein and creatine. how many carbs should one consume post workout? depending on intensity 0.8-1.0g of carbs/Kg of bodyweight. This is in the form of dextrose. My rule of thumb is that one level tablespoon of dextrose yeilds 9g carbs, so you can work from there.
