HMB was a hot product a while ago, but most recent research has not come up with anything significant as far as muscle gain, it did show that it can lower HDL's, so it wouldn't hurt to take it. The jury is still out on CLA. ala, or more specific R-ala is much better. You don't really retain subcutanious water on creatine, your muscles retain the water, which is a good thing and most research supports taking it. AngerOut
