Okay, I read some threads and it seems some people say to have high complex carb and low protein before, and high complex carb, high protein after I workout.

Then I read some other threads that said don't eat any carbs after working out, what's the deal?

On another note, where can I buy dextrose? I've looked all over and can't find a place that sells it.

i cant imagine why u wouldnt want carbs after
a workout

unless its cardio and your trying to lose fat


dextros is ez to get--use google and type dextrose

its nothing special to buy--but important for post workouts

dunno if that's a good price for a 50LB bag or not, but hey, if you want to stock up then maybe it's worth it

Funksoldier, Of course you will get many different opinions on this matter but as far as carbs go, post workout you are carb depleated, so it is best to use simple carbs like Malto and Dextrose with a whey protein so you can use that Insulin spike to force those nutrients into your muscle cells.

If you take in to much fructose post which only goes toward Liver Glycogen stores, when that is filled the rest will go towards adipose tissue. The average BBer has 80-100 grams of Glycogen Liver stores and 400-600 grams Glycogen stores in muscle cells depending on body weight of course.

Pre I like to use whey, Glut, Vita-E, Vita-C and B-12, for me at least 60 minutes prior...

I just think that carbs are way overused because they are cheap and most producers of carb drinks and what not know that they can sell this stuff becuae on the surface it does seem to make since that you would need carbs post-workout. I cycle my macro-nutrients have have seen incredicle gains since I started about 2 months ago.
