  whole wheat bread

 whole wheat bread

I keep hearing 2 things about whole wheat bread while cutting

1. don't eat, will hurt the diet trying to lose weight
2. eat, has good carbs/fiber in it, just limit the intake.

What are your opinions. I love to eat a ham an turkey sandwich around noon just because it is easy while in school. At the same time i need to cut and don't want it to hurt my diet.

Dont eat bread, it doesn't matter of its 9 grain or wheat or white. Any grain or oatmeals etc that are processed or ground up have a high GI index, plus two slices of bread you are talking around an easy 40-50g of carbs and if you are eating 4-6x a day that is probably a good portion of carbs for a cutter.

But, if it is your one sin of the day and you are not looking to hit way below your "natural" bodyfat percentage, and you are not worried about the quanity of carbs then you can continue doing so if you please. So really it is your call, but if you want to be anal about GI index then bread is bad PERIOD.

I don't generally eat bread but if I have a craving for some, I usually have a piece of really heavy flax or pumpernickel bread.
I'd much rather eat oatmeal instead of eating bread.
