hey, i am just wondering how much cals should one need to gain weight from 120lbs to 130lbs?? and what about from 120lbs to 140lbs? does it just add the same amount from 130lbs~140lbs as that of 120lbs~130lbs? or does it just follow a set of mathematical biology calculation??
[im kinda confused about it, im noob here, please help me out of this question.]

1.35 grams protein per pound of desired bodyweight. (130x1.35)
1.6 grams carbs per pound of desired bodyweight. (130x1.6)
Fat intake at 40% of desired weight. (40%of 130= 52grams of fat.)

Add that all up and thats how many calories a hardgainer needs to gain weight.

Thats from the Sports Supplement Review 4Ed by Vince Andrich. Good book for a noob, it will give you a lot of info and is free except for s&h.

if i were 130 pounds, i would stack the carbs on like crazy, i gained 60 pounds in 6 months, any thing is possible, but eat anything u can get ur hands on and u will grow

1 lb of body weight=3500kcal, so 10 lbs = 35,000kcal needed in excess. Of course as your wieght increases your basal metabolic rate will increase requiring you to consume more calories to compensate for the greater caloric output.

Carbs will help pull in water, but it is true that ~3600kcal (food calories) is what it takes per pound.

So to add about 1 pound a week, throw on 500c per day onto your diet, of course you will eventually hit a new maintenance and have to bump this number again, and previously recall that carbs will pull in water weight.
