need a fat loss diet for my dad

need a fat loss diet for my dad

Hey guys. My dad last year got on the infamous Atkins diet last year and lost about 50 pounds or so then stopped losing. He needs exercise and a new diet. He hasn't gained the weight back, but he can't seem to get back on the diet. Good! That diet is horrible for long periods of time. My dad is 52 and a meat cutter. His body is achin when he gets home so tryin to get him to go walkin is pretty much impossible. He's diabetic (type 2) also.
He wants to lose weight again but I know exercise is the main thing he needs, but if he has a diet he can stay on, he'll do much better I'm sure.
What kinds of diets are out there to help him out? He weighs probably 265 right now, is 6'0 tall. He gets up at 2:30 every morning to go to work and does not sleep very well at all. So it is VERY hard to get him goin to exercise. Everyone's tired after work anyway. Any suggestions or particular diets that I could look into would be appreciated. Thanks everybody!

i hate knowing i skipped the lunch time workout and have to lift after work, i feel dead. another option is to get up before work and do some exersizing. 230 is kinda early though... that reminds me of a joke-
