 Training intensity on 1st cycle

Hi guys,

Newbe on posting here, but I've been reading and lurking here in the shadows for about a year. Here is my situation. After getting back into the gym and lifting hard for over a year now after a nagging shoulder injury finally healed, I started my 1st run of Test e 300mg a week. For a year now I have been lifting very intense, switching it up from 3x8's and 5x5's but always with heavy loading and max intensity. My diet is good and I've recovered all my mass I had before the injury and more. I'm a natural 175-180 lb'er at 5'10" and 34 years old and am now 205lb. It just so happens that I decided to go on the Bill Starr 5x5 program after studying it well and thinking it would be a good way to put on even a little more mass and refine my squats and deadlifts. This happened at the same time I came through with getting my gear.
My question is this, the Bill Starr program doesn't seem to be near as an intense workout as I'm used to, seeing as how I'm ramping weights to the final heavy set. I have this nagging feeling like I'm wasting my test cycle with a workout that's not as hard as I'm used to. If I were not running the test cycle I wouldn't care as I have decided to try this program to see if it works well for me, I just can't help but wonder if I switched out programs at the wrong time to get all I can from my cycle run. What do you think.

You are going to know your body and what stimuli it responds to best better than any of us on this board. Go with your instincts.

are you up 20lbs from this cycle?

I know Starr's 5x5 doesnt seem as intense, but I do know that people that follow his training tend to make wicked gains, so I would run the cycle, and follow his routine as its written, i think you will be surprised

Are you doing the intermediate or the advanced Bill Starr 5x5?

The intermediate one. No I'm not up 20lbs from the cycle, I'm up 20 from the last 9 months of training and diet, just started the cycle this week.
