Anyone know anything about 'PTFE' syringe filters? whatman has syringe filters made out of a lot of different materials, but only the 'Deep Glass Microfiber', 'PVDF', 'PES' and 'Cellulose Acetate' filters are available as sterile filters. I wonder why others, like the PTFE, aren't available as sterile.

I'm looking at some PTFE non-sterile filters that I might be able to get for a good price, but don't know anything about the PTFE material.

There much be some reason for having 8 differnet membrane types.
