  Packing mass onto core...

 Packing mass onto core...

I have a large rib cage and need to fill out my core; my obliques are especially lacking. What are some good movements to hit them?
I've heard that side crunches still work the abs, and that the rotation-with-a-stick-behind-your-neck places undue stress on the spine.

thats right doing oblique rotation places alot of stress on the lumbar region of the spine.
Side bends would be better for it. If you are looking for more mass then, but weights on your chest and do some crunches.
IMO incline sit ups and ball crunches or the most effective to hit the Abs and for the sides do some bends.

i agree, side bends would be fine. just make sure you do them with some weight.
