Cracked open hundreds of them in the past years, never had to seal one though. Does anyone have any helpful tips, etc.?

You don't... or at least I've never heard of anyone doing it. It'd be hard as heck to keep sterility. They're machine made.

You need a fairly hot flame.........then just hold the tip of the unsealed amp in the flame, and slowly rotate it, and the glass will melt together. (those small propane torches, are not quite hot enough to get a clean melt)

BTW.........I am assuming that you were wanting to seal new amps, and not one that you broke the top of of.
