| Hey everybody. was hoping that someone here could give me some info. So I have had this shoulder pain for like two months. It comes and goes. I took 2 in a half weeks off when it first started. It got better. So anyways, yesterday, I get to the gym and notice that my shoulder hurts for some reason. Anyways...i tell myself...its just my mind...ill be fine. So I hit chest and tris. Well on incline barbell press i hit 225 for a few reps. it felt okay. however my entire workout was lagging. so i do close grip ez curl tris with 45 on each side. i finish my reps and my fingers in my right hand have these sharp pains. Then I leave the gym and head home. The front of my shoulder has this dull sharp aching and my tricep hurts near the elbow and my hands have gotten a little better. just numb sometimes. so i get home and ice everything and take ib profun and get to the hottest jacuzzi i can find for 20 minuts.anyways i dont know what exactly is wrong. has anyone experienced this. the pain is in the front deltoid on the right and my upper pec near the armpit lining. i still can move my arm freely and its not excruciating pain but it is hurting and pretty scary. what do u guys think it is and should i apply ice and heat therapy and can i still get to th gym for legs and maybe light upper body work? Advice would be much appreciated. I press on the front deltoid and the pec where it hurts and it feels sore inside. |
I've got the same thing going on. Two weeks ago was on incline bench which was a movement that never bothered my shoulders ever in 20 plus year of training. I've had shoulder achs and pains in the past, but they always went away after awhile. Not this time. I felt my shoulder just tear on my third rep. I knew this was not the typical shoulder injury for me. I racked the weight and I was screwed.
My pain is pretty severe and affects my front delt and my upper pec too. Mine also travels deep into the center of my shoulder as well. I've been applying ice alot and jamming anti inflams. Helps a bit, but I cant do anything without getting a sharp jolt of pain every time I move it wrong. I dont have the numbness you describe though.
I have an appointment to get it checked, but its not until later this month. I'm only able to train legs. I can hardly load the plates on the squat bar. I cant do one upper body movement. Not even a light bicep curl. Its really got me discouraged.
Maybe go get it checked. Hopefully you just have a strain and not a tear. I'd also like to hear from others here as well to get some insight on how they recovered or not recovered.
