Half-way up is a good measure since it gives us a good number for overall development of the leg ; not primarily the hammies.
But, hey, show me a reference and we can modify the measure.

And I'm at 26" ....... busting my ass trying to get them over 30". I don't really care about my arms, they're already large from all the heavy core PL stuff I do, but legs are lagging.
