The coffee filter method is simply used to prefilter some of the gunk and let the tren/oil solution drain before doing your final filtering. No its not necessary, some people let it sit and just draw the clear solution off the gunk with a syringe and filter.

that is what i said or meant to say just did not put in the correct words sorry

i would use it it catches a lot of gunk for you...it wont hurt nothing thats for sure
